Merz B. Schwanen

Founded in 1911 by Balthasar Merz in the Swabian Alps of Germany, the original Merz B. Schwanen factory remains in operation today. It houses 32 vintage circular knitting machines, known as loop wheelers, preserving the authentic craft of old-school fabric production—much like the narrow vintage shuttle looms used to create genuine selvedge denim.
